Manpower Group
Milwaukee, WI
When Manpower Inc. began planning for construction of its new world headquarters in Milwaukee, Wisc., LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification was top of mind. The team ensured environmentally-sound options were a primary focus even in the early phases of design.
Precast concrete helps contribute to LEED certification in several ways: minimally disrupts the site (area and time); reduces the heat-island effect; improves energy efficiency and thermal comfort; reuses and recycles formwork, keeping materials out of the landfill; is generally made from locally-sourced materials/components; and is generally manufactured and shipped from within a 500-mile radius of the jobsite, among other benefits.
PRECAST ELEMENTS
356 Precast Pieces (35,678 square feet)
Pieces were finished in brick and acid etched.
