Accomplishments
I’ve celebrated over 20 years of marriage with my incredible wife. Together we have raised two awesome children. My oldest has a career in emergency services and my youngest is off to college. I’m truly blessed to be able to work with such amazing people.
Off the Clock
I like to plan crazy adventures full of Type II fun. We’ve ended up in some awesome places like the Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood, The Prince of Whales Hotel, or the mayor’s house in Han Sur Neid, France. I’ve also slept in a farmer’s field, sandbars on the Wisconsin River, and an off-grid cabin in Alaska. There is no better way to feel alive than going into the cold, dark wilderness during the winter to camp under a tarp while your friends fight over how to make fire.
Secret Life
I won an Apple Pie Contest seven years ago. They haven’t had the contest since, so I’m the Reigning Apple Pie Contest Champion for the past seven years.
Here is an alfredo sauce recipe that may change your life. Step 1. Whisk together over medium heat: 4 tablespoons of butter, 3 tablespoons of flour, 1 teaspoon of salt, and ½ teaspoon of pepper. Step 2. Pour in 2 cups of milk. Whisk. Don’t stop whisking. Step 3. Add ½ cup of parmesan cheese. Then, add some more parmesan cheese because you are from WI and ½ cup isn’t enough. Don’t stop whisking. Step 4. When it thickens up, pour over some noodles. Step 5. Eat way too much because it’s the best thing you’ve ever had.
I devote a lot of my time outside of work as President of my local squirrel observation group. As the only active member I have yet to observe any squirrels ☹.
I delivered pizzas when I was in college, so if my wife complains about my driving I remind her that I used to be a professional.
I’m a big fan of the Oxford Comma.
I type two spaces after a period. Haters gonna hate.
JEREMY OLIVOTTI
Vice President of Sales and Marketing
Accomplishments
My greatest blessing was marrying my amazing wife. Over 29 years later I’m so grateful she said yes. We have two amazing daughters and we are having a blast cheering on their success.
I get to work with some of the most incredibly talented people and together we build some great buildings where people live, work, learn, and play. Every project has its own story, but the most special ones to me are because of the people we build them for and with. Getting to work with our customers to help them accomplish their project goals is very rewarding. Knowing they trust us with the projects that are so important to them is something we do not take lightly.
Extracurricular
My wife and I enjoy leading a small group from our church. One of my favorite verses is Joshua 1:9. Still living in 2016, man I wish my Cubs were good again.
Off the Clock
Favorite place in the world is sitting on the back deck with my wife and a good whiskey with some music in the background. Greatest movie franchise: Rocky (this is a fact and not open for debate). Braveheart is up there, too. One of the best ways to spend an early morning: on a paddle board on Lake Geneva when the water is like glass. We usually take our dog which ends with us falling off the boards. A coffee and a good book is a close second. We also have a wood burning sauna (pronounced SOW-na) and enjoy it a few times a week.
Secret Life
Harrison Ford went to my grandfather’s house in Upper Michigan for an authentic Finnish sauna. That’s right, Han Solo/Indiana Jones.

My great uncle trained horses for Roy Rogers, a cowboy actor in the 1950s. My great aunt was one of the people on Ed Gein’s shopping list. Our first dog was from a litter of Hank Aaron’s. I saved a person from jumping off a bridge in Green Bay while heading up to a Merle Haggard concert.

ROB BISSWURM

Accomplishments
My greatest accomplishments have been marrying my amazing wife Erin 16 years ago, along with raising our four wonderful children: Cooper (12), AJ (10), Gabe (10), and Lucy (5).
My greatest sports accomplishment was winning a state championship in soccer with my dad as coach.

Off the Clock
Sports have always been a huge part of my life. I enjoy watching and attending Packers games, Brewers games, Marquette basketball games, and US soccer games with my family. As much as I love pro sports, nothing beats watching or coaching my kids in basketball, football, lacrosse, and soccer. Seeing Lucy celebrate a goal by pointing to the sky (à la Messi) is absolutely priceless.
Secret Life
As a kindergartener, I was able to meet and shake hands with President Reagan. I didn’t realize how amazing that was until many years later. I was a ball boy for the 1990 US Men’s World Cup soccer team. To this day, I don’t know what was more impressive - their world-class soccer skills, or Tony Meola’s glorious mullet.
MICHAEL BISSWURM
Director of Production
Accomplishments
My greatest accomplishment is my two beautiful daughters that mean everything to me! I have been blessed with the opportunity of working with so many great people that made the vision we had some 38 years ago in a small airport in Lincoln, Nebraska to be the premier architectural concrete producer come true. We were sitting around a table waiting for our flight home after visiting a concrete plant with John Bisswurm Sr., John Bisswurm Jr., Matt Graf, and myself. We were trying to come up with a name for our new adventure, which consisted of a small 1/3-yard hand loaded barrow mixer and a chicken coup for an office. Our plant was a small warehouse that produced 2’ x 2’ roof ravers. John Jr. came up with the concept that we don’t look big right now so we must sound big and International Concrete was born.
Once again thanks to Mid-States I am blessed to be involved in something bigger than myself in my role as production control working with talented, amazing people on the production and quality side of the house.
Extracurricular
I have attended many PCI sponsored events over the years learning and sharing ideas.
Off the Clock
I love to spend time outdoors. I enjoy hunting with my family and friends every year up in Adams County. I also enjoy taking my daughters to our cabin to spend time with them on our ATVs.
Secret Life
With my dad coming from Germany, I was introduced to soccer at a young age and came to love the position of goalie. After many years of playing for the Bavarian Soccer Club, at the age of 17 I was asked to try out for the Olympic team in Colorado Springs. I unfortunately didn’t make the team, but I made a perfect mold to make precast concrete soccer balls a few years later.
BEN DAHLBERG
Production Supervisor
Accomplishments
Meeting my awesome wife on my 21st birthday and now being married 19 years with two kids getting to their teens, whom I could not be more proud of.
Have been in architectural precast for 23 years at ICP. Carpenter/mold maker by trade, but love that the versatility of precast has allowed me to gain experience in welding, concrete batching, general construction, and how to think outside the box.
I love geometrically- and process-demanding jobs such as radius panels on The Couture or Busch Stadium, intricate detail work like the Glen Ellyn Parking Deck, and most recently the University of Illinois Chicago Computer Design building, as well as working with so many talented people in precast, that put every effort possible into the product for the customer.
Won an “Ideas that Payoff” competition with our ICP team in 2019 in Sacramenta, California with our flip flop brace, during the PCI Productivity Tour and Workshop (kind of reminded me of one episode on The Office, since the awards were given on a tour boat in San Francisco).
Off the Clock
Love being in the woods or on the water. Love to hunt whitetails and ducks. And most of all fishing for whatever will bite.
Secret Life
I like to build cabinetry and furniture, utilizing joinery and my own designs without any metal fasteners.
CHRIS SCHAEFGEN

I started at ICP in 1993 as a general laborer cleaning molds and worked my way up to multiple department manager positions. Along the way, I learned all aspects of architectural precast: batch plant mixer, overhead crane operator, mobile crane operator, project manager, to name a few. My biggest highlight was co-project managing the building of the New York Mets’ Citi Field. Traveling to New York every other week and watching the stadium be built from the ground up was very fulfilling.

For the past eight years, my wife and I have held a cornhole tournament at River Bend as a fundraiser for American Family Children’s Hospital in Madison, Wisc. Over the eight years, we have raised over $75,000 for the children. That is one thing I am very proud of.

Off the clock, I enjoy traveling with my wife Michele to different destinations. I enjoy camping at our permanent site at River Bend RV Resort. I enjoy playing cornhole (bags) and having an ice-cold beer. I play in multiple leagues throughout the year and in a tournament almost every weekend in the summer.
Secret Life
Back in 1992 while serving in the Navy aboard the USS Ouellet, we were in Sydney, Australia. A few of my shipmates and I went to downtown Sydney to hang out at the bars and we ran in to Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I had the opportunity to chat and drink beers with Flea, who did not want to be called Flea, but wanted us to call him Michael as that was his name. At the bar there was an inflatable bungee cord racing track. I got to race against Flea and beat him.
