University Club Tower
Milwaukee, WI
University Club Tower is a residential high-rise with 37 stories and 53 residential units built in 2007. At the time it was built, University Club Tower was the tallest residential building in Wisconsin at 446-feet. Now, it is the fourth tallest building in the state. Built on land owned by the University Club of Milwaukee, the building is connected to the club.
The building was designed with white limestone and glass walls, which wrap around a cylindrical core of silvery-painted copper. At ground level, residents enter through a grand four-story portal, defined by piers striped in white and taupe stone, with glass canopies sheltering the openings.
The exterior of the building is clad in precast concrete, featuring a custom mix that appears sparkling white. To achieve the look, two types of granite were used, as opposed to the more common limestone or local aggregates.
